This is an issue with many of us who contend that this is the user's computer and their right to configure it the way they want - screen resolution, colors, sounds, etc.
That said, I would bet George T or Ed R have a WSH solution.
Since you are starting to develop POS, look to vendors the follow OPOS standards. If you use Epson products [like I do], they have a free download of their developer kit which includes an ActiveX control for you to use in printing receipts. The printing is extremely fast. It also integrates with VFP very well. I use it in one of my apps.
This kit is free upon filling out the following
Epson POS Registration Form.
This same kit also operates their cash drawers and other POS products. Do yourself a favor, and go down this path from the beginning. YOu will find it much easier because it is near impossible to get VFP to print correctly to a POS receipt printer without these controls and products.
