The C5 error is worrying the hell out of me.

The most common situation is when I preview a report and then close it, but recently I had the C5 error instead of a standard VFP error message.

I was using the REPLACE command.

REPLACE transfer.tl_name WITH lcUser

But it wasn't supposed to be "transfer" but "transferlog", so instead of a standard error message being produced, I got a C5 error.
