The FOR clause is going to use the current work area as it's point of reference.

If you don't want to SELECT table2 before the replace, then you can do
REPLACE ... IN table2
>I thought that it didn't matter since I refernce the fields with their corresonding table aliases. It shouldn't matter what's selected, as long as it's in the data environment of the form. If I'm not correct let me know.
