Whatever complaints he had with the management could have been handled by email or phone without breaking whatever rules the second instance broke. You make it sound like the second time should be excused if the first time was unjust.
That's like saying "We can't arrest this person for speeding because the ticket we gave them for running the stop sign was not valid, and they were just speeding to prove their point or fight back at the system."
