I agree with the latter statement but not the former. The problem is that 18 months ago, very few people had e-Books (even today, the number is pretty small). I can't speak for Whil, but I bet the effort to create an e-Book version (multiple versions, actually, to support competing products) wouldn't have paid for itself given the few copies he would've sold.
