Hi Erik --

Do you really not know what words are not acceptable?

In what part of the world?

How about a simple guideline: all the words that you would be embarrassed to have your grandmother hear you say. That should be simple enough.

You misspelled "simplistic." HTH!

Seems to me that if we use a list, people will just find offensive words that aren't on the list.

Seems to me that folks find offense wherever they choose to look. Big world out there, Erik. Time to adjust to reality.

Consider this: the list contains the word a**. Do I get kicked off for saying something like "I made an a** of my self"?

Dunno. The BBOFT contains that word, too, right? WWJD?

Ok, so A** isn't on the list, but a**hole is. Fine, so I can call somebody an a**wipe until that word gets added.

Point in fact, that was a question I bought up on my first post here. All appearances indicated y'all had unbuttoned your top button, given you have sysops charactizing folks (albeit, behind their backs) as such.

And so on and so forth. The very existence of a 'list' implies that any language not on the list is fair game.

You're catching on mighty quick, Erik.

I don't think I know anyone with enough spare time to compile an exhaustive list of things David wouldn't want his daughter to read.

:-)

We are adults, I think that most of us know what inappropriate profanity is.

It's a Big World. Who's standards apply to all?

Just don't use it here.

Just where is here?

Why is it necessary to test the boundaries just for kicks?

Yeah, dirty job, ain't it? Freedom isn't free, m'boy.

Remember this is a technical board; there are plenty of places to vent and do all the insulting and cussin' you want.

The only technical posts I've seen here could easily be classified as "Blasts" by many. Let's ask Tamar, if you disagree, shall we?

Later... Karl
