The only problem you might have is with the file naming. I don't know if this occurs with Outlook, but when Eudora downloads a file with the same name as an existing file it renames it (eg. FILENAME1, FILENAME2, etc). You might want to account for that when you do the update - something as simple as removing the updated file from Outlook after your program has been updated should work.
Another issue you might have is some e-mail servers will choke on large file attachments. I forget the max filesize, but it's usually when you start getting over 2-3MB. It's probably something you'll have to test.
