You create your cursor, then run the report. You should remove any table alias information from the field expressions in the report, and also remove tables (if any) in the report dataenvironment. For example, if previously you had field expressions like

customer.firstname

you would now refer just to

firstname

or whatever field name shows up in your cursor.
