Hi Jeff --
I think there are many other factors that transcend any promo efforts made by JVP or anyone else.
Hmmmm, I was really speaking to his self-promotion, not anything he may have ever said about VB in particular.
Some are:
[1] Greater employment opportunities
[2] Forced to do so by current employers
[3] Finding the time to learn VB in the face of already-insane schedules
[4] VB7
There are others, I'm sure.
Certainly.
While others may disagree, I never did like JVP's ram-it-down-your-throat VB discussions.
Boy, I guess I never realized that was his position. He certainly doesn't make any effort at all to become part of the VB community. Well, he did, briefly, but flamed out *so* fast that the very initials became a joke. One thing you'll find about VB folks is that they're, if nothing else, extremely practical. The sort of theoretical hyperbole I hear spewed from some just doesn't fly in a community that's used to actually getting things done.
And him being a marginal twit didn't make it any better.
Heh, I imagine. ;-)
Later... Karl
