A valid point, Ed. In our case we've always done the final compile for any release from the same place so there wasn't a problem - as well as there rarely being 2 releases within a day or two and frequently now weeks elapse. I'll remember it and Bruce's suggestion of DIFFERENT date/time stamps for future releases.

I've had far better results assigning a new version number to each executable, and then comparing versions use AGETFILEVERSION() from VFP6 - the was a similar FoxTools function in earlier versions; see George Tasker's Extended FoxTools Help, downloadable from here on UT.
