Look in VFP help under SET COVERAGE TO and then follow the links the the Coverage Profiler Application help screen. That should get you started in finding exactly what is causing the slow down.

What happens when you open and close data from the Command Window? Does it slowdown there? Jeez, Josh, there could be a lot of reasons for this....
