This reminds me of a news story over here last week. Somebody said something on a chat site about a notable doctor. Said doctor then took the host ISP to court and won a libel case against the ISP.
What hit me most about this story is that it is an isolated case. Why? In the USA this cannot happen. The first amendment (freedom of speech) prevents an ISP from being responsible for anything posted on the site. This is what was reported, I don't know US constitution so, if I'm wrong, please be gentle :)
This came to light mostly because of your own postings on here. No offence, having met you personally, nothing you say will surprise me. I do avoid most of the controversial postings here but this one is (so far) tame enough to read :)
