> A PCX file was created in Paintshop Pro. It needed to be linked into a > Word document. When the Word document was opened the following error > appeared ' Err=1283, This file was not a recognized by the specified > graphics filter'. We have re-installed Microsoft Office and the > Graphics filters, still with no luck. We have also managed to open > the Word file with the PCX link on another PC with no problems at all. 1) Make sure that the .PCX file is saved in as a Version 5 file (not Version 2 or Version 0). 2) Drop the number of colours to 256 colours if it's higher than that. If that doesn't work, then drop the colours to 16. 3) If all else fails, try saving it as a .BMP file. Have you tried loading a different .PCX file into that copy of Word?
