It's a function of the interaction of VFP and the Windows spooler - the Windows spooler attempts to provide each spooled document with a known, clean state of the printer (believe it or not, things besides your app talk to the printer, too) and each time you SET PRINTER TO
something you've started a fresh spool job. If you can make Windows not consider it necessary to start at top of page (and AFAIK, the only print device that gives this option is the Generic driver, which gives you 0 Windows printer control capability).
The solution to this problem is (1) don't send the output through a Windows print tool, getting around all spooler issues at the cost of losing all GDI services or (2) handle the spooling task yourself, sending output to a file and then when it's all done, sending the whole file as a single, continuous stream.
