Actually, when I removed the view and worked with the table as a free buffered table the problem was resolved. What bothers me now is why I thought buffering was possible only with a view and a database, rather than with a free table. Something in the Developer's Guide gave me the impresion I needed a view. Though DB's are wonderful I always opt for a simple structure, and if I can get away with one free table and one form I will probably go that way.
