Hi Evan,

I don't agree with all of these, but I've just commented on a few...

>>>>I own a Palm3e and love it, but here are some things that really bug me about it.
>>>>
>>>>1) No on-line browser
>>>>2) Can't send email to a group

It would be nice to be able to say, "Send this to everyone in my 'Friends' address category"!

>>>>3) No built-in connection to Groupwise

No built-in connection to Outlook / Notes / Visual Foxpro / application of choice...

It would be nice, but sometimes, you can only have one piece of candy. It might make you hungry for more, but you only get one.

>>>>4) No (standard)serial, parallel, PCMCIA, keyboard, RJ45 or monitor ports

The standard serial would be cool, but I think adding support for anything else would force them to beef up the OS, and then they are getting out of the PDA buisness and into the MiniPC buisness.

>>>>5) No built in biz apps (Office for the Palm)
>>>>6) Dedicated graffiti area is a waste of space

I've got mixed feelings about this one. It does seem odd, but it does make the interface better. How would you do it?

>>>>7) Backlight is almost unusable without a hack
Explain? I find backlight to be pretty handy. I liked the old black on blue better than the blue on black (Palm IIIe only?)

>>>>8) Menu must be activated from the bottom of the screen

This is a drag. I could go for a little [>] bar on the top left. Click and a menu 'thwips' out. A la GNOME.

>>>
>>>9) Physical buttons on the case and the buttons in the grafitti area are a waste of space that could have made the screen bigger.

I disagree completly here. I love the buttons on the case. Bang! Right there. Its great when I just want to review.

>>
>>10) PalmIII should recharge while in cradle.

Yup.

>
>11) Does not change to daylight savings automatically

This is kind of a drag, but without knowing your state or timezone how would it know to adjust? Then the people in other countries without DST would complain. So intead of capturing more data to make this an auto feature (Longitude and []adjust for DST checkbox) you just adjust it twice a year.

12) To Do, Schedule, Memo, and Addresses should all link together. If I say a todo is due 4/15, make a Schedule entry with it and set an alarm. ALL My memos should be all avaliable under memos.

In general, I love the Pilot, but it is a tool with a limited scope. Better than what we've had. Almost what we are used to, a full PC. Its a nitche.
