>Was this a clean NT install, from the ground up? Is the hardware on the HCL? Is networking configured right?

Yes, the last two installs were scratch from CD, and I'm pretty sure this is HCL, a Dell 300 Optiplex GXa. The first was done from a proposed standard server NTWS install, and it was a disaster. The second, from CD, failed also, so we did a third install very carefully, adding common Windows apps one at a time instead of all at once from a server BAT. That time there were no vfp ISO errors for about 2 months. Now the ISOs are commonplace again, though I have not changed the configuration at all (doesn't mean LAN hasn't done SMS/silent changes, however, or something isn't corrupted)...and now the Outlook install has caused new NT OS problems...I have tried SPs 4, 5 and 6 at various times, no help there.

>FWIW, I had my first honest to goodness BSOD lockup today on the LAN here at home on the NT Server box, probably caused by shifting roles in the domain and using Active Directory and trying to publish a virtual page from the IIS5 system on the NT's RAID array. I had to repair the NT system partition, and do a partial reinstall to change roles for the machine from PDC to a member server to use Active Directory. I'll live. I'll probably upgrade it to Win2K IAC.

To be fair, NT has not actually Blue-Screened or locked, it is just getting constant explorer.exe failure messages, and you know you're in big trouble...may have to do a fresh scratch install anyway, this will be #4 :)

You know, I might want to try my vfp6 app installation on my backup NTServer, see how it does there, since I don't have another WS handy for testing...that's a real good idea, in fact...
