Works fine for me in a program, but I do remember some hard-to-duplicate issues with it while I was testing a framework, prior to SP3. I don't know if anything was changed to correct it -- it may be some kind of timing issue. What happens if you SET STEP ON just before that line and step through in the debugger?

What version of VFP are you running? If VFP6, have you applied SP3?
