Hello to all,
The following has happened twice already. After having used an application, containing forms used to enter data in the database, the computer of the user crashed. I said after because the application (generated months earlier) was closed. After the crash, we re-opened the tables were the data should be and it was all gone. Well, I should say that only the data added in the previous session was gone.
The thing is that only one computer crashed and not the network. The database is nested on a remote server that is accessible via our network. So I thought that even if a computer crashed, it couldn't affect the database but it did. Why is that? Does it have something to do with the commit? How can I prevent this from happening?
In a nutshell, I'd like for the application to save the data (on the server) as soon as it is entered. I think that this mesure would prevent the continual loss of data after a crash. Is it a good idea?
Thanks very much in advance, Stephane.
