>>I have a NEC notebook PC that seems to have slowed down lately. I used Nuts & Bolt to monitor the PC and found that CPU usage is high (around 20-30%) even though there is no process going on (i.e. no programs running in back ground or foreground) There is no virus on the system. Is there any utility that can tell me what is occupying the CPU?

>If you have Visual Studio (and I see your default forum is VFP so you may), there is a utility that you can install as an option of VS. It's called Process Viewer. Check it out under MS Visual Studio 6 Tools (default Program Group).

Thanks for responding. I had a look at Process Viewer. It listed all the programs that were loaded in memory, but how do you know which one is actively taking up the CPU time?
