alex's email rule #1: don't give your real email address to your friends and family unless you are certain that they will NOT send you crap. People who send jokes, virus "warnings", chains and other "useful" material usually include your email address among a list of 20 other cc's. This is how you get on spam lists. These people have no clue as to the amount of damage they're doing when they think they're doing you a favor.

Get yourself a hotmail address and tell them that you have a new address and have them use that if you don't want to risk hurting their feelings.
