My daughter had to do that - had to fill in each country name and capital one continent after another. She can still do it all - albeit about 10 years out of date in Africa and Europe.

I drove my (US) kids across Canada and they learned about each province as we came to it. Unfortunately we started in Quebec and missed the Eastern third....

But that too has stuck with them.

>I think every school kid should be given a world atlas and made to study it. I remember as a kid reading an atlas and memorizing the capitals of the world. Didn't help me with Physics or Chemistry though 8-).
