DD,

I have heard of problems where the cards and the hub are both set to autonegotiate 10/100. The conversation between the cards and the hub goes something like:

Card: Please, tell me what speed you'd like to talk at
Hub: No, I insist, you tell me
Card: That's very kind, but you're the hub - it's your call
Hub: I couldn't possibly
Card: ...

etc...

Setting either the cards or the hub to specify 100MBps can resolve the issue.

Note that I've not ever experienced this problem myself (and am in fact running my switch and NICs all in AutoNegotiate mode) - I've just heard that some of the early 100MBps hardware had this problem.

Cheers,

Andrew

If we were to introduce Visual FoxBase+, would we be able to work from the dotNet Prompt?
