Joseph, I have been asking the same question for 2 years!! Even put out a $100-$500 reward on compuserve in my younger days (got flamed) trying to get an answer and no-one could actually give me a solid solution. Lots of suggestions with third party products, but most involved getting into the depth of C++ programming which I didn't want to do. The .NTX files are handled totally differently I guess... and I had a whole explanation awhiles back but chucked it. Decided to rewrite entire system in VFP.
One company that I had contacted near the end was promising though: You might try them. Their name is Copia International Ltd., in Illinois. Numbers are: 800-689-8898 Fax: 708-665-9841. They have a product called AccSys for xBase with functions apparently available for Clipper...
Good luck in your hunting...
PS. I developed a lot of workarounds while creating a fox app to access the clipper data. If I was searching for data in the fox app, I would go by the CDX, then GO BOTTOM, and decrement 100 records seeing if I could find it there as well... Only thing is, I could never add a record from Foxpro, unless I wanted to run both indexing schemes every night!
Jim Condon.
