You need an interface to the TWAIN drivers. A TWAIN driver is an industry standard driver specification where you may interface with the scanner manafacturer's provided driver.

The details of this interface are a little wordy, but there are several development products available that provide an easy interface to the TWAIN drivers (I use Leadtools...check out www.leadtools.com). Once you have the interface, you can initiate the scan and store the photo in you database.
