I use a few tables to do lookups on the called form and didn't realize I would have to derive it from frmData. I didn't even use the data environment. I guess VMP requires there be no data on the called form. I think what threw me was that the text showed up on the calling form but the problem was with the called form. Once I knew the problem was the SET TALK setting the solution was a piece of cake.
