My company just bought another company. The new company was a subsidiary that was obviously an orphaned stepchild. They were typically bought and sold because they were part of a package, not like now. They were basically totally ignored by their prior owners.

Their current system setup is Novell 3.12, DOS workstations, no access to the outside world, a few people have word processing (if they had it at home, so they could bring a copy of the program into work), and custom stuff I have to work with written in Clipper.

We're upgrading 'em now. The hard part is remembering how to train newbies in Windows.

I'm sitting here, myself, on a machine that's running IE4/OE4 (because of how badly they hosed OE5), Office97 (because O2K wants IE5), and NT4 (because W2K wants IE5). It's working, too! Damn well. I've got other machines, of course, with other versions, but there's a lot to be said for the sentiment:
