Thanks for the advice. Guess what? I figured out why I was getting the record lock in pessimistic buffering mode while accessing the same record simultaneously from two running versions of the same form.
I read that once you set buffering mode 2 on, any changes you make to the record will lock the record. Guess what? I was setting four default values in my record during my Form Init. Once I find a different place to set those default values, the record locking will work as desired using pessimistic buffering.
I commented out those four lines after the buffering command and voila it worked. I agree that optimistic buffering is the best way, but the guys I am working with/for want me to use pessimistic buffering.
I am so glad I finally found out what was causing the problem. Thanks for helping.
