Thanks for yours & everyone elses replies assuring me about the site.

I thought it was the case that I would not receive abuse/etc., the person who recommended the site wouldn't have done so if it were the case. And the answers to the technical questions I have seen were excellent & polite.

It just came as a shock the large number of messages regarding the new rules & the fact that the majority were claiming the right to be abusive if they wanted.

When I get stuck, I'll take the risk & ask questions. I'm not faint hearted and can take some amount of flak (especially good natured), but if it were the norm, then I wouldn't bother with the place. Unfortunately, the web is full of places where abuse is the norm, especially for 'beginners'.
