I'm OK, licensed and registered, and I've had both 1911A1s since my days where I routinely wore one at work. Reliable, well-built, and surplus military ball ammo is cheap. And it's a one-round knockdown. I like it, and I'm looking at it from a self-defense standpoint; I don't anticipate ever thinking about a target >50' away.
