First, I have to say that I haven't worked with the MailingLabel object, so I'm speculating here. If the problem is that you don't have the right template on the client machine, then I think you need to create or copy the template before you do this.

I've built mail merge templates by creating a new document (with Documents.Add) and then saving as a template. I'll try to find some time today to see what's going on when Word creates label documents.
