Evan,
>When you said 'That gets you most of your list' did you mean for me to use the VS tools, or that it would give me a shopping list to reference?
Since you said this was for a development machine, I meant to use Backoffice 4.5 that came free with VSE.
>This is for an internal app at the hospital. I could use the stuff in VS during the development phase but I am afraid they might not kick in the money 6 months down the line when we go into production. I would have to get them to guarantee the funding up front.
But it will go into production on another server, right? Better to spec that server now, along with the server you need for development, all in one package.
>Which brings up the question...the Backoffice included is for development only, not for production apps right? I wonder if there is an exception for non-profit orgs? Anyone know? Anyone know who to ask?
Development/testing only. If your hospital can qualify as an educational institution you can probably get the Educational License discounts (very deep last time I saw the numbers).
