I can run multiple apps, no?. One production instance of the app, one dev instance of the app. Is there something I am missing?

My active server pages in the dev environment would call the dev COM components which would call my dev SQL database, all on the same NT box as the live system. What would not work? Are you concerned about the server being brought down by dev code that still isn't completely debugged?
