You can preset the parameters before opening or requerying the view - so you can use controls on a form having the proper formating and validation to set the view parameters.
For example, if you have ?ldDate in your view, all you need is ldDate=thisform.txtDate.value before requery() - where txtDate is a text box on the form.
If your view is automatically open in DE, you can avoid the dialog by setting NoDataOnLoad=.T., or by assigning default values for the view parameters in BeforeOpentables.
