Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. So far so good, except for the release. I'm using the timer, but with, say 3 seconds (or about tooltip normal) it works fine except when user moves away quickly, then it looks peculiar, not like a "real" tooltip. The tooltip just sits there while the user is doing something else for a couple seconds. (Allright, I'm being fussy, but it would be nice to have it behave exactly as a builtin tooltip...)
