Yes, the salaries are quite high. But then so are the ones for Oracle positions and it doesn't take a "reborn geek" attitude to understand that Oracle does databases.

So far, the best explanation I've been able to come up with for ERP is "quickbooks for fortune 500".

As a matter of fact, I tell people that I'm working on an ERP system for my wife's store - it'll do purchasing, invoicing/pos, inventory, customer tracking, and order tracking. I'm thinking of throwing in some HR management for the 4 people that work for her and maybe I'll change my name to "personsoft" or "sap jr." ;-)
