When you tried to run the COMPILE DATABASE command, did you try it from a standalone EXE using only the VFP6 runtime libraries. You cannot try to use this command while running your program from the Development Environment.

Compile a new EXE that has a COMPILE DATABASE command in it and run it as a standalone to test. It won't work.
