If there software out there that will convert a tiff image to adobe pdf format.

What I am looking at is converting 1,000 tiff images for distribution on CD.
I need them to be in PDF format, but I have not any software that will convert the
files in a batch type way. I called tech support for ADOBE acrobat and they indicated
that in order to get the tiff to pdf format I would have to perform a file open, print to
postscript, convert that postscript to PDF. They indicated that they had no batch
way of processing lets say a directory of tiff files.

Can anyone help?

Remember it must be automated....
