I can't remember the exact reason but Rick Strahl (the author of West Wind web connection) doesn't recommend using Foxisapi. As a matter of fact, West wind comes with a version of Foxisapi in which Rick has fixed some bugs.

The reason for using Web Connection is that all of the grunt work (and I do mean all) has been done for you. You only have to write functions and procedures to merge your data with html and your off and running.

And sometimes you don't even have to go to that effort. For example, Web Connection includes a ShowCursor() method, which will create the HTML necessary to display the current alias on a page.

>Oh no. Just my luck. Someone I respect tells me I am wasting my time. Great. Just great. Goodbye cruel world. And take my worthless VFP Programmers book.

>I will do as you suggest. I missed that first P... acronym. But still, shouldnt VFP's samples run like they are supposed to in their doc's? I think it will cost me a free help response to ask them so I guess tech support is useless. But seriously, does everyone use West wind? I figured with the new multi threading, etc foxisapi would be ok itself while writing your own server. I thought it would be nice to be able to complile and at least test VFP's server examples and cant get past fatal error employee.dbf not found. heh
