I was just going to comment that some of us are still using DOS & I've always found the standard blue background to be ideal. Most foreground colours are very easily distinguishable, which is not the case for white/grey backgrounds. (It's also far simpler when presented with 8 background colours & 16 foreground to select a suitable combination)
