Yes there's another layer, but that's the way it works. Want SQL Server data, go thru ODBC, Oracle, ODBC, Access, ODBC.

There's a section in the VFP docs entitled: "Setting Up an ODBC Data Source". This should get you started. Then you can look at remote views, for actually viewing the data.
