>Can anyone offer some suggestions and/or reasons for using an installer other than the one that comes with VFP6? I know it's simple and limited, but I guess what I'm curious about is, what more would a product like InstallShield offer that you would consider really important?

Other products offer better versatility, and often have an easier time managing complex component installation than Setup Wizard. I use IS Pro, mostly because of it's versatility (it has a full-bore language built in, as well as wizard-managed installation options seen in other IS products such as IS Express.) IS Express offers about 80% of IS Pro's functionality for about 1/4th the cost, and would be a good choice for VFP deployments rather than either Setup Wizard or VSI.

The Visual Studio Installer is great as long as you don't need to rely on a post-setup executable to handle detailed installation - the option of a custom post-setup executable isn't there because it's a transactional installer.
