A friend had similar problems. Finally tracked down to running an EXE compiled with VFP6 SP3 on computers set up with VFP6 no SP. The library files were just different enough to cause non-repeatable crashes. This may well be the same in your case. I'd try reinstalling the workstation files from a fresh NetSetup production.
