To create the desktop shortcut, you need to retrieve the virtual folder that contains it. You can do this either with my LNKFILES.DLL or with the Windows Script host, the latter being my preference.

I think that if you copy the TTF file into the Fonts folder, the next time the computer is re-started it'll be installed. However, I'm not certain that this is a redistributable component. Maybe someone else can fill in this portion.
