Good morning (BTW, we're GMT + 10),

>Do you have any mc'donnals there? (sorry, I couldn't help not ask you this)
Yep...an official sign, coming from the airport, points the way! also a Wendy's, Pizza Hut and 2 Subways.

>must be the nearest thing to a natural paradise?
Welllll, I've lived in places more paradise-like (the Rock Islands of Palau - on my sailboat), but it's a good compromise, since I need to work - there is enough business here to keep me going and it's tropical, which is important to me...oc, no place is perfect. I love the views and the weather (except when a Typhoon is lurking).

The cost of living is pretty expensive...gas, right now is $2.09...oc, there's not far to drive!

>If a traveler want to go there which the shortest route?...and what documentation need?
The 2 basic flights are Continental, via Honolulu, or through Japan. US citizens just need to show their passport on arrival and they are waived in...no restriction on how long one can stay...we're so closely related to the US, which is a BIG advantage (over most other Pacific islands). Also, we're in the US post office system, which is ANOTHER BIG advantage...US postal rates apply. Great for ordering over the Internet (as long as the company is willing to ship via PO, rather than UPS, etc.)

>As IT worker do you find difficult to live there? I mean get contracts or find good jobs, IT ones?
The first year I was here, I worked off island (in Palau and Samoa) 22 weeks out of the year. Now I'm busy year round here...it was a bit slow starting. There are a few other companies that do custom program develeopment...but I've got a good reputation and my business has spread by word of mouth...I don't even advertize in the phone book. I work out of my apartment...pretty low key, but I'm very busy. The variety is pretty interesting too. I've worked on systems in the medical field, debt collections (for a law firm), AG case tracking, worker complaint tracking and tourist reservations.

>not getting bored?
I guess I learned to live a pretty simple life, after living aboard a sailboat for 8 years. Haven't been bored yet. I love movies, and they recently closes the Monoplex and opened a 7 screen multiplex...we don't get all the good movies, and they're much later than in the states, but I'm thrilled it's here (Eric Brockovitch and Cider House are playing this weekend).

> kids? schools?
No kids here, so that keeps it simple. The public schools are not very good, and there are some ok private schools, from what I understand.
