It's a great idea and I think I might use this approach if VFP had a "variable" base class. But, in this case a private variable seems more user-friendly. This is for the new version of my company's MBox tool (http://www.brampwood.com/downloads/mbox.zip). If you have a minute, please try it and tell me if you agree. You can try this code in the command window:

gcName = "John Q. Public"
MBox("Please enter your name:",65536,"Test","gcName")
?gcName
