>I had a bad IE5 install on my NT machine today. It went fine until the Restart, but now it boots up to the point of the NT Logo, and stops. A LAN tech said it will probably call for a scratch NT re-install, but I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has any better ideas, like some key combo that might get me past the Logo. My repair disk doesn't help, and the few NT CDs are locked up somewhere. The LAN Tech doesn't think the CD will help this, anyway.

I realize I'm an NT tester, and part of my job is to discover problems, but really, this is getting to the point where I will recommend against a move to NT for my office pretty soon, nevermind robustness & security, though I do like the development robustness of it. But we can't have a situation where hard drive contents get hosed regularly.

If you have it, ERD Commander is often able to give you the necessary command line access to do the repair or run the partial reinstall of NT you need.
