I think MS bought Metaframe (the orig. term serv. product) in order to squash the possibility of net appliances eating into it's market share.

My cousin's experienced with it and he says that if the app has too many graphics it takes a while for screen refreshes. I've heard that vfp has some simmilar problems with it.

I'm convinced that the technology will keep running in circles:

60's Mainframes + Terminals + long word cpus
70's 4 bit cpu introduced.
80's Standalone microcomputers.
90's Networks (server based data).
95's Internet (see 60's)
95's Long word cpus (32-64 bits)
2000's Terminal server (see 60's again).
2010 Microsoft "invents" the Turing machine (with a cool name, of course).
