Hi,
After my first succesful deployment of the SQL version of my app to 2 sites, I am left with a couple nagging questions about SQL Server behaviour as refelcted in Enterprise Manager.
1) Why is that when I first open EM on my server and try to drill down to my databases - it sometimes tells me something to the effect of it "can't verify that MY_SERVER_NAME is running - do I want to connect anyway" Of course the server is running - on the same stupid machine - so what's up? It always connects fine.
2) I don't know if this is related to above or not - but in EM, my server icon on the left shows the little green "started" arrow but also has a red, vertical, squiggly line going through it. What does this mean? All seems to work normally despite this icon. PLus - I don't remember always seeing this - just of late.
3) Again - not sure if related to above but I noticed that under security\remote servers is an entry for my server - the one and only one I have - so why is it there? It's all on the same machine. I didn't make this, so I must assume the installation process did? Can I delete it? what's up with it?
Thanks - I'm gradually getting all this, but these things confuse my poor little brain.
