Do I need to point out that BrainBench is not a qualified certification authority? There is no QA on the test, and it is distinctly lacking in the requirements to make it meaningful - no statement of requirements, and a totally fallacious assumption that relative score differentiate between relative qualifications. The MCP certification is a simple pass/fail - you either meet the MCP requirements or do not. The exam test process exhibited by BrainBench is not extensive enough, and the quality of knowledge testing is not at a high enough level, to make a valid distinction between minimally competent and truly gifted individuals.
Do you need the number to Rent-A-Clue in your area? The testing procedure, and the stated assumptions behind the resulting score, are not capable of making the distinctions that the test asserts. The test process is weak, the required skill set is not specified, and the speculations made based on the score results are inaccurate at best. It's a bad test that makes poor assumptions about what it demonstrates, but if it trips your trigger, enjoy!
